    All members have to agree to abide by the letter and spirit of the Code of Conduct. A copy of which can be read using the link provided above.
    DATA Protection, The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). As a trade association with members, we need to process your information as a Legitimate interest as provided as part of the membership application. This will be kept on the membership database to enable us to contact you with information, on an ongoing basis. Once a year a membership list will be produced and sent to all current members of the association as part of the AGM. You will also be registered the Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy for inclusion in the Primary Authority Register to be able to receive Assured Advice. If you wish, you can opt out of this by writing a letter or sending an email to the OATA office. You will be asked to sign and return a form agreeing the Code of Conduct and agreement to the GDPR, before you will become a member.
    I confirm that I run my business from a commercial retail premises (shop or store) with appropriate and clearly visible signage indicating the name and nature of your business, where the Valuation Office Agency has issued a letter confirming the requirement for business rates, which serves as a place to display for the public to see and purchase pets and pet related goods, which is open and visible for public scrutiny without appointment.
    Once you have registered and paid, Membership of OATA is at the discretion of the OATA Board which will make the final decision - if your application is NOT approved by our Board a full Refund of the fees paid will be returned to you. Full voting membership is confirmed once the signed agreement of the Code of Conduct and any related paperwork has been returned to the OATA office, then a Membership pack will be sent out to you. Retail members – it is the individual shop that becomes the member. We offer discounts to retail members with multiple shops. Ring our office on 07946 167121 to find out more.
