It’s World Wildlife Day on Sunday March 3 which is celebrating Life below water: for people and planet.
This joint CITES Secretariat United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) partnership awareness day is this year focusing on Sustainable Development Goal 14 – Life below water, with the focus on marine species.
We have long argued that there are benefits for local communities who catch tropical marine fish or harvest coral for the home aquarium industry. It can bring a myriad of benefits to remote coastal and riverine communities across the world – providing a sustainable livelihood from the local resources on their doorstep.
