The Animal and Plant Health Agency for England and Wales has announced it is looking to review its plant health fees. This will have an effect on businesses which import or sell aquatic plants. OATA has now submited two response to this consultation, questioning both the process and the socio-economic impact the proposed changes will make to small businesses.
We would also urge businesses to have their say about how an increase in fees would affect your business. You have until 30 October 2017 to take part. Some of the proposed changes in fees could see costs rise by more than 500%!
APHA particularly wants information about the impact of its proposals on businesses – including small or micro businesses where any increase in fees is likely to have a big effect.
