The Scottish Government recently announced a consultation into the transport of live animals following recommendations from the Farm Animal Welfare Committe. Animal welfare is a devolved matter so each administration across the UK can take a different approach to this issue.
While the consultation focuses on moving farm animals and horses, it does also include mention of companion animals, which would include ornamental fish.
We have responsed to the consultation on behalf of the ornamental aquatics sector where we think the questions are relevant and you can read our response here.
