All barley straw extract products can no longer be sold and any remaining products need to be removed from your shelves. Some barley straw extract manufacturers were given a grace period to sell products until 1 August but because that has now passed all barley straw extract products must be removed from sale. It is still fine to seel unprocessed barley straw ie in pouches and bags.
From 15 August 2020 you can no longer sell two aquatic plants Salvinia molesta (Giant Salvinia pictured) & Gymnocoronis spilanthoides (Senegal tea plant). Also now banned from sale by the EU Alien Invasive Species regulation is Plotosus lineatus (Striped Eel Catfish). Please make sure you do not sell any of these plants (or fish) after that date. The EC regulation listing these three species came into force 20 days after its publication on 25 July 2019 i.e. 14 August 2019 so the ban will come into force on 15 August 2020.
