Are you getting ready for your pet shop/animal activities licensing visit?
While at AQUA last week we heard from a number of shops which needed help after licensing authorities wanted to put extra conditions on their licence. If you’re an OATA business and you find yourself in this position give us a ring. Our Primary Authority scheme will be able to help with this and we can give you advice on the particular issues you’re facing.
Retailers might also find our list of QR codes which link to our free care sheets useful to display on tanks or as a poster in your shop. Customers just need to hover their smartphone camera over the QR code and it will take them to the relevant care sheet. This helps you meet the standard about providing care information on the species you sell. Download the QR code sheet here. Our full range of care sheets – we have more than 40 – are free to download! They cover a wide range of species as well as useful ones on setting up aquariums and how to check water quality. Find them here.
Our City & Guilds training will also help with showing inspectors that you are investing in species specific training to improve staff knowledge and training. We have two levels of accredited training – Foundation and Advanced. Find out more here.
And if you are an OATA member business check out the paperwork we’ve collected to help you meet the English Animal Activities licensing requirements. Log in to our Members’ Area here.
