The Government has announced its new Energy Bills Discount Scheme, which is due to run for 12 months from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. This will come into effect following the end of the current support package.
Eligible non-domestic consumers will receive a per-unit discount to their energy bills during the 12-month period from April 2023 to March 2024, subject to a maximum discount. Find out more about the scheme and what help you might get here.
The Government has also announced which industries will get extra support over and above that offered through the EBDS scheme. All businesses get some support but a number of industries have been recognised as needing additional help over and above that.
Despite representations by OATA, aquatics businesses have not been given that extra support. We are making further representations about aquatics businesses and have written to the Prime Minister and Defra and BEIS departments to highlight that we believe our sector has a far greater case for additional support than many currently listed, such as manufacturers of knitted and crocheted fabrics and hosiery. We would therefore encourage you to write to your MP asking them to advocate on behalf of your business and the industry. Find a letter you can personalise here and you can find your MP by searching here.
