New guidance specifically for the ornamental fish industry has been put together by Defra to help businesses prepare for Brexit.

If you import or export to the EU or third countries then please make sure you read the guidance here. It also outlines important information about a new system called IPAFFS that will replace TRACES if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.

If you export live fish or shellfish to the EU you will need to apply for an export health certificate if there is a no-deal Brexit. Find out more here.

All the above guidance is aimed at helping businesses plan for a NO-DEAL scenario. If the Government does secure a deal then the current processes would continue. We have tried to collate all relevant guidance issued by the Government on our Brexit page.

We also recommend that anyone bringing live fish through Heathrow register on the Port Health Interactive Live Information System (PHILIS) which will inform you by email once your consignment is booked into the Heathrow Animal Reception Centre. You can get a login by emailing Heathrow Animal Reception Centre here.
